We speculated most of the products and gadgets and got a good clue that CES 2016 would flush out lot of trendy and geeky products including smart cars, 3d Printers, Televisions, Augmented Reality/virtual reality, and a horde of creepiness. Below we have rounded the most awestruck, highly-anticipated and everything astonishing that was announced at the trade show:
Cars, Smart or Otherwise
As everyone know that CES is an auto trade show now, and this year it proved the same. Although the trade show had its reasonable share of disappointments, too.
At the show, car infotainment systems got a refit. At the launch, Audi’s newly launched system has put the screens throughout the car’s interior. And, the delightful wireless version of Apple’s CarPlay, too, made an appearance. So, the connected car was there.
The Stunning and Dreary Vision for Televisions
Unlike previous year, CES 2016 didn’t brought so many innovations. It was CES, so everyone was expecting bunch of enticing and user-centric television sets. But this year, there were a few launches but not too many.
With UHD TVs increasingly available for low-prices, but CES didn’t showed as many new innovations as last year. The exemptions were the creepy Samsung concept, and Sony’s striking Backlight Master Drive tech. However, we saw a few better displays, and we are definitely cool with that.
This year CES trade show, turned out to be all about television design and picture quality of the UHD TVs inched forward. And, Samsung too got close to completely jettisoning the bezel on its 88-inch flagship. And, one of the most enticing news was – LG’s new 4K OLED sets were super thin—so, we’re talking in milli-meters.
We Entered the Virtual Reality Space
At CES 2016, we got two big pieces of VR news – One with Oculus, that is finally opening up its pre-orders for its $600 VR headset. Oh, yes it’s Pricey. However, one small bit of good news is – if you are an original sponsor, you’re getting one for free.
There at trade show, we also got to see HTC and valve’s latest Vive VR headset. Pre-orders starting on Leap Day, Feb. 29.
And, the other big player and VR contender—Sony’s PlayStation VR.
Lots of Craziness
Till date, it been said that no CES would have completed without launching and releasing strange and surprise products. And, of-course tech-geeks and gurus who were lucky enough to attend that totally awesome mid-air charging tech found it thrilling. As been said Samsung was completely fanatical with how the back of its TV looked – Wondering what might be the reason behind. And, the astonishing Technics 1200 turntable made a conquering return.
But undoubtedly, it was an awestruck event where tons of brand new tech start-ups got the opportunity to meet and see exceptional gadgets. And the exceptional gadgets, the hottest hardware start-ups and most interesting gadgets were the show-stopper.
